Window Cleaning in the Cold - This Week's Reality Check

The cold weather properly arrived this week, and it's been a bit of an eye-opener.

For me personally, a decent coat and keeping busy is enough to stay warm while I'm working. But the equipment? That's another story. I was borderline with freezing up this week - the hose went a bit stiff and everything took that little bit more effort to get the job done.

Don't get me wrong, the work still came out great and the customers were happy. But it's made me realise I need to plan ahead better for the deeper winter months ahead.

My Plan Going Forward

I'm going to start using warm water that I'll heat up overnight. Nothing crazy - just warm enough to stop the equipment seizing up without overheating anything. It's one of those things you learn as you go, and I'd rather sort it now than struggle through December and January.

The Good News

Despite the colder weather making things a bit trickier, it's been a great week. Picked up 2 more customers, which I'm buzzing about. Now I'm just coasting into Christmas, keeping the existing customers happy and the windows sparkling.

If you're thinking about getting your windows cleaned before the festive season, now's the time. The cold won't stop me - I've just got to be a bit smarter about how I work in it.
